Everything north of the center line of Route 6, which includes Barnstable Village, Cummaquid and West Barnstable. Exterior changes there need a certificate from the Barnstable OKH committee. Hyannis, Centerville, Osterville, Cotuit and Marstons Mills are south of Route 6 and outside it.
Is there a historic district in Hyannis?
Yes. The Hyannis Main Street Waterfront Historic District has its own commission, which reviews exterior work like windows, siding, fences and signs inside the district boundaries.
How close to a wetland can I build in Barnstable?
